18 December 1999

What a fun day.  It started with a branch activity.  It was a pretty good turn-out.  We started with two spiritual messages, one from Elder Wetenkamp and one from me.  Then we played games until noon, at which time we ate.  It was very fun.  I played with Mary Grace a lot.  She's a cool little girl.  One of the daraga (young single woman) members brought her daraga friend, Ligaya.  She really opened up.  "It's like she's one of us now" was how Elder Wetenkamp put it.  Hopefully, we can teach her parents with her.

In the afternoon, we taught a first discussion to a lady we met in a waiting shed a few nights ago.  It went well.  One of her sons listened, and so did a daraga neighbour.

Ethell invited us to the grand opening of her restaurant when we saw her on Thursday.  It was earlier this evening.  Now that the place is finished, it's really nice.  It's the kind of place that I'd take a date to.  The food was great, inexpensive, and the waitresses (Ethell and her sisters) were very friendly.  They had a live band there for their grand opening.  They were pretty good.  The saxophone player is an Australian.  We'll definitely go back there.
