8 October 1999

This week has been rather hectic, and we really don't have that much to show for it.  We taught the fourth discussion to Nilda, Jona, and Edith.  It went well, but we still don't have them committed for baptism.  They aren't sure yet.  They say they haven't received answers to their prayers.  We also taught a first discussion to President Cobacha's new son-in-law (Rody) and his 14-year-old daughter.  They seemed pretty receptive.  I have high hopes for them.  We dug a CR (short for "comfort room," which is what they call the bathroom in the Philippines.  Often, as in this case, the CR is actually an outhouse, and we dug a hole for it.) for sister Rosacay this morning for CSP (community service project) with Butch Dela Cruz.  Otherwise, this week hasn't been very good.  We were running all over the bukid (wilderness) trying to follow up on some referral cards that we had received, but we didn't have much luck there.  We've had some nice visits with some of the members, but our actual mission work has been slow.
