Wow, what an interesting few days these have been. I'm starting to understand Waray better, but whenever I try to speak it, Cebuano ends up coming out. Sometimes it really frustrates me. It wouldn't bother me so much if I wasn't senior companion, and if Elder Werner could speak the language a whole lot better. But that's not the case, so I'll just live with it. Just think of all the tales I'll tell when I go home!
It was Tolosa District Conference yesterday and today. Elder Merril C. Oaks was presiding. He's the second councillor in the Philippines Area Presidency, and he's the brother of Dallin H. Oaks. It was cool having him here. He's a good speaker. He'll be giving a training at zone conference this Tuesday. President Dela Vega spoke, too. He's a great speaker. He's not as quiet as the first time I met him, either. He's getting used to his new calling, I guess.
Well, I guess that's all I've got to say for now.
I still miss Almeria a lot.
Way cool-Merrill Oaks was the temple president of Winter Quarters from 2007-2010. His wife is a pretty good speaker, too. (They both spoke at stake conference.)
