20 December 1999

It's P-Day.  First thing this morning, we caught a jeepney out to a place called Ngolos.  It's on a different island.  We went to the beach on the east coast: the Pacific Ocean.  I saw the biggest waves that I've ever seen in real life.  They were huge!  And powerful, too.  It was a coral beach, too, so it was amazing when the waves crashed into the coral formations.  I can't describe it sufficiently, so I took a lot of pictures.
Elder MacKenzie at Ngolos.  Note how sharp the rocks are.  They play a role in  my entry for 28  February 2000.

At 1:00, we visited Joseph and Norie Acebias.  Joseph is an investigator, and Norie is already a member.  We'll baptize Joseph on December 30.  They're a very cool couple.  Pretty young.  Very funny.  They're a good match.  They have two cute kids, Michelle and Joe Marie.  I really like them.

We ate at Ethell's Place again.  It's actually called The Binge Cafe, but we like Ethell's Place better.  We had fried chicken and french fries.  It was sooooo good, and for only 35 pesos each.  Special price for us, kono (they say).  We had a nice visit with Ethell and her cousin.  Her cousin is a former investigator from quite a while ago.  I think we'll be eating there often.  They're so nice.
