We went to Ethell's Place earlier this afternoon to try to set up a CSP (Community Service Project). We ended up just hanging out there talking to her for two hours. It was a nice visit. We found out a lot about her. She's 31 years old (my guess was 24), no husband, mother of a two-year-old girl named Angel, is very close to her sisters, and lived in some Arabian country for five years. Her cousin showed up and joined the conversation. We set up a CSP with her. I think her name is Janet.
We taught a first discussion to a Cebuano woman this evening. It was at the house of Santa Sawaan, one of our investigators. The girl's name was Jovy. She's from Davao and doesn't know Waray-Waray very well. There were four languages flying over that room. Elder Wetenkamp and I spoke English to each other. I taught in Cebuano with a little Waray slipping in here and there. Elder Wetenkamp taught in Tagalog with a bit of Waray slipping in here and there. Jovy spoke a mixture of Cebuano and Tagalog, Santa spoke Tagalog and Waray, Wetenkamp and I spoke Waray to Santa and her friend Mary Fe, and Mary Fe spoke Waray. It was awesome. This country is so messed up.
