1 December 1999

Today sucked.  Elder Millington has been sick for the past five days, so we phoned Elder McIver and told him.  He told us to go to Tacloban to see the doctor.  So we went to Tacloban.  When we got to Tacloban, Elder McIver was gone to Naval.  Elder Clarito took us to see the doctor, but she wasn't there, so back to the office we went and hung out until 3:00.  When we got back to the hospital, Dr. Rubio still wasn't there.  She finally showed up at 4:30, and we got to actually talk to her at 5:00.  She prescribed some medicine, and we toddled off to the hospital pharmacy to buy it.  The cost came to about 1500 pesos.  We didn't have that much money on us, so we left empty-handed and made our way to the bank.  After Elder Millington had withdrawn the required cash, we went to the nearest pharmacy and got the medicine.  Then we went back to the office through rush hour traffic with the intention of getting reimbursed by Elder Maginito, the financial secretary.  He couldn't do it at the time, so we just came back to Dulag.  We rode outside on an overcrowded jeepney.  I'm amazed that I didn't fall off, considering the position I was in.  As we walked through our gate, Elder Millington said, "Uh-oh."  "What?" I asked.  "You're going to hate me," he said.  "Why?" I asked.  We got in the door and he started searching through his bag.  "Crap, I did!" he said.  "Did you forget your medicine?" I asked.  The dork left his pills in the office.  That means we have to go back to Tacloban tomorrow!  Crap.
