We made it through the night with no brown-outs, and the power is still going strong.
LATER
We called for transfers this morning. Elder Wetenkamp is transferred to Ormoc. His companion will be Elder Jones. Yes, the same Elder Jones who is currently zone leader in Borongan. Elder Wetenkamp is very excited about it.
We went to the Radyo Natin (Our Radio) broadcast booth this morning looking for stickers. The DJ didn't have any, but she invited us in and we visited with her and her friend while she wasn't on the air. Right before we left, she (he name is Fe) had us do an on-air promo. It went something like this:
W: Hey friends. This is Elder Wetenkamp.
M: And this is Elder MacKenzie.
W: And we're coming to you live from Guiuan, Eastern Samar. Do tune in to your friendly home town radio station, 103.7.
M: Rrrradyo Natin.
The "Rrrr..." signifies a rolled "r." (I was quite proud that I could roll my Rs so well.)
It was cool. Later today, we're going to her Bible study group out at Dumpao Beach, and on Tuesday morning, she's going to interview us live on the air. We're excited about that.
Power just went off.
LATER
Power's back on.
