21 November 1999

Yesterday ended a lot better than it started.  We taught a couple of discussions to some daughters of members in our baptising and fellowshipping pool, and then we taught a new member discussion to Ligaya.  At 5:00, we had MCM (Missionary Correlation Meeting), after which was MIA (Mutual Improvement Association.  It's the youth organization in the church.)  Elder Millington and I were in charge.  He gave a lesson on the importance of education.  It was 98% English, but he got his point across.  After the lesson, we played games.  We had a lot of fun.  Those in attendance were Hazel, Susan, Mary Chille, Sister Yepez, Mary Chille's sister, Sister Carpina's daughter, Mary Belle Buco, Ritchel Anlio, and one more girl who I don't know very well.  When the activity was over, everyone of us walked Hazel and Susan home because it was late.  We planned on walking everyone else home, but it was 9:30, and they had one more thing they wanted to do before going home, so we left them since we were already out past curfew.

Things seem to have blown over with Elder Millington and I.  Hopefully, things will be okay now.

I had a cool dream last night.  I was still comps with Elder Surowiec.  We were in Tacloban for P-Day or something.  The weather wasn't very good.  Very cloudy and rainy, and it was dark for the time of day it was.  We went to Jollibee for lunch with a bunch of other missionaries.  When we came out, I looked across the bay where I could see part of Samar.  I stopped in my tracks and my jaw dropped.  There were at least ten tornadoes on Samar.  "Elders, look!" I said in amazement.  They looked over and saw the tornadoes, and they were just as awestruck as I was.  "This is so cool," I said.  "I've never seen an actual tornado before."  We all stood there watching them.  Most of them were small, but there was one moving around quite a bit that was bigger.  One of the tornadoes moved off of Samar and into the bay.  "Uh-oh," Surowiec said, "that's gonna send a big wave over here."  The waves weren't that bad, though.  We watched a little while longer, but then realized that the tornadoes were come towards us.  So we ran.  I don't remember anything else until right before I woke up: the tornadoes were gone, and my scriptures were soaked and dirty.
