After I showered this morning, I took a leak. I flushed the toilet, then turned around and put my malong on. As I did, I heard something moving in the toilet, followed by a loud squeak. A rat had come up through the drain. It tried to get out, but the bowl was too slippery. So I got a sundang (machete) and killed it.
Gandara had a baptism this morning at the Calbayog chapel. Afterwards, Prince and I went out to Rawis to find some people we had contacted. We didn't find them, but we did start talking to a small group of men. As we talked with them, a bunch of children gathered around and started talking to me. I'm a sucker for kids, especially cute little girls, so I talked with them while Prince made seven contacts.
When we got home for lunch, we found the zone leaders locked out of the house. They hadn't forgotten their keys, but the house helps had accidentally locked the door in a certain way that makes opening from the outside impossible, even with the key. So Elder Prince climbed onto the balcony, destroyed the doorknob up there, and got inside. Yay Elder Prince!
We found a dead rat in the house at lunch time. It was the hugest rat I've ever seen. Good thing it was dead.
